Tuesday News

If you haven't already, please scroll down to yesterday's post, 'Enduring Romance Renovations,' and read that first. Thanks.
.
The cover art for Jill Sorenson's debut novel is in and I read she has a new contract with Dell. Way to go, Jill! DANGEROUS TO TOUCH will be out in June, I think, and the ARC is on the way. That is the one which is on the way, isn't it?

Here's some news-to-me, Michelle Moran is the featured historian on a show called 10 GREAT REASONS on Fuse, which is something I totally know nothing about. I watched Michelle's part, though, and she was awesome, of course.

Remember, if you have news you'd like to share, please email. I don't have time to search for it!
.
Authors, here's a couple of things I noticed this week-
.
Thing One- You need to have addresses to all of your sites (website, blog, MySpace, etc...) at the top of the front page of each site, clear and obvious. Patricia Wood, I had to Google you to find your website! Readers are tired and busy. If they're interested in your books, they need to find you now. Don't make them scroll down or search your other pages. Make it easy for them!
.
Thing Two- The longer your page for whatever site takes to load and/or the more rowdy your music, the less likely an interested reader will be to hang out and learn about your book. MySpace is especially guilty. Remember, Readers are tired and busy! Make it easy and pleasant for them to seek you out.
.
That's it for this Tuesday!
.
Afternoon-Edit-to-Add: We have another new reviewer - K. Actually, she has the same first name as I do, so she offered to go by K. Isn't she sweet? Robins/Robins and Kimbers, oh my!

I SO hear you about time for sites to load. I want to get in and out of a site quickly.

Also, have your books on every site. That's what I'm mostly interested in, the books, the blurbs, and then, PLEASE give me a link to buy the book!

I think it's nice when an author posts her cover art, preferably with a link to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. I'm a visually oriented person. I may not remember the title or the author's name, but I always remember the cover art. Also, if an author spends anytime in the Blogosphere, I think it's a good idea to use the cover art of her newest book as her avatar. I see that and I go, "Oh, she's an author. I wonder what her book is about." Then, I click on her cover art, go straight to her profile page, and can find her website and blog easily.

Thanks so much for posting my first cover, Kimber An! What a sweet surprise.

I would love to send you an ARC. I'll email you offline about it.

Wow, that is a first.

I don't think I've ever been called sweet before.

(Grinning)

Still in shock that you asked me. Such an honor!

It's an honor to have you on board, K (that's Kimber Chin in disguise ;)

Well, everyone has their own definition of 'sweet.' My definition is that quality which makes someone fun to hang out with.
:o)
