Enduring Romance Favorites at the 2009 RITA Awards

The 2009 Romance Writers of American conference is over and the RITA award winners have been announced. My favorites made a strong showing.
First up, MOONSTRUCK by Susan Grant, a Science Fiction Romance novel was a finalist in the best Paranormal Romance category. Unfortunately, some people still don't get the appeal of Vulcans over vampires yet. The good news is Susan kept the door open for the rest of SFR. No small feat during the economic recession when smaller subgenres like SFR are dwindling away while publishers grasp for reader's hard-earned nickles.
Secondly, A MOTHER'S WISH by Karen Templeton won the best Contemporary Romance category. Yeah, Karen! Just got her next novel in the mail.
